‘Gov. Espino is a true leader,’ -VP Binay
“The people of Pangasinan, most especially the provincial leadership have given all the possible support to ensure another milestone in the history of boy scouting giving every participants a meaningful experience,” Binay said.
Binay, who is also the national president for the BSP, said their stint here reminds the scouts to better fulfill their roles as stewards of the earth with environmental consciousness as the main advocacy of the scouting movement as he stressed that “there is no backdrop that could be more perfect than Lingayen.”
“I have every bit of courage to say that you helped build a better country by giving the scouts all the benefits of this venture camp,” he averred.
Binay said that knowing what Pangasinan has become under Gov. Amado T. Espino Jr.’s watch, he noted that the governor is a true leader. The high school scout participants had similar accounts of the province.
An impressed Andrew Brandon Ong, a high school scout from the National Capital Regionsaid: “I am awed by the freshness of the air emanating fromthe gulf.” The young scout said he wished he could go and visit more natural places and enjoy nature in Pangasinan.
Another scout from the Mindanao region, Rex Meinard Cervales, noted the kindness and hospitality of Pangasinenses, the cleanliness of the environment and the beautiful beach which he
said is very alluring and amazing. Espino, on the
other hand, was equally overwhelmed with the successful turn-out of the national
encampment.
Elated with all the encouraging impressions and
testimonies about the province, he told the scouts that he was not mistaken in
saying that the best organization he had become part of is the scouting
movement.
The provincial chief executive hoped that the scouts
who had the opportunity to take a glimpse of Pangasinan through their week-long
encampment “can bring home the beautiful memories and experiences and the
beauty of the province itself with its beautiful tourism sites, the hospitality
of the people, and the rich cultural heritage and history which Pangasinan
takes pride of.”
